UPSA Management pays a courtesy call to the GNPC CEO and extends an invitation to their November graduation ceremony
The management of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Mr. Joseph Dadzie at the Petroleum House in Tema. The visit was among other things to invite Mr. Dadzie to the university's upcoming graduation ceremony in November and to also explore potential collaborations.
Led by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, the GNPC boss was formally invited to be the guest speaker at the university’s November 1st, graduation ceremony.
The invitation recognizes GNPC's pivotal role in Ghana’s energy industry and the alignment between the Corporation’s goals and UPSA’s mission to produce industry-ready graduates.
Mr. Dadzie expressed his appreciation for the invitation and praised UPSA for its dedication to academic excellence. He highlighted the significance of collaborations between industry and academia in developing a workforce that meets the current and future needs of the country. While commending the university for equipping its graduates with the necessary skills for the professional world, the GNPC CEO also praised the Vice-Chancellor for the various facelifts the university has witnessed since he assumed that role with their meager internally generated funds.
The meeting went beyond the graduation ceremony, with both parties exploring potential collaborations in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. UPSA commended GNPC's impactful CSR programs, particularly those focused on education, health, and community development, and highlighted the alignment with the university's mission to educate future leaders.
