GNPC Foundation
Scholarship Scheme
The overall objective of the GNPC Foundation Scholarship Scheme is to develop and supply relevant skills for the rapid development of Ghana's nascent petroleum industry for the overall development of the country. Local participation in the industry is low and key skills have been provided by foreigners for some time now. To increase the country's benefits from the Oil and Gas find, Ghana must increase its local participation in the industry and progressively increase the supply of key personnel as well as administrative and other personnel in various fields to support the industry and other sectors of the Ghanaian economy for National growth and development. The scholarship scheme (local and foreign) is therefore established to help brilliant but needy students who without the scholarship package may be unable to access and benefit from education.
