SLB Delegation Visits GNPC Research and Data Division, Laying Groundwork for Future Collaboration
A delegation from the Global Technology Company SLB (formerly Schlumberger) recently visited the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation's (GNPC) Research and Data Division to explore potential collaborations in Ghana's energy sector. Led by SLB Country Manager Julia Gridasova, the delegation met with GNPC representatives including Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, Manager for Strategy & Investment, and Mr. Kwesi Krasi Eyiah, Acting General Manager for Research & Data, to discuss mutual interests in research and data partnerships in the oil and gas industry.
During the visit, Nana Adusei Poku, Manager of Laboratory at GNPC, took the SLB team on a tour of the state-of-the-art Research and Technology Centre (RaTC), which is near completion. The RaTC will play a critical role in advancing scientific knowledge, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable practices in Ghana's energy sector. The SLB delegation recognized the RaTC's potential to position Ghana as a hub for collaborative research and development.
Both SLB and GNPC teams expressed optimism about future collaborations and viewed the visit as a significant step towards meaningful cooperation between the two organizations. The meeting was also attended by several key GNPC officials, including Mr. Daniel Kwesi Boadi, Manager of Geophysics; Mr. Kingsley Asante, Manager for Works; Mr. Albert Longdon-Nyewan, Deputy Manager of Compliance; and Mr. Simone Esselfie, Manager of Reservoir and Engineering, further emphasizing the importance of the visit.
