Kumasi Hosts Successful Conclusion of GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human Qualification Meets, Unveiling New Champions and Stellar Performances

Kumasi, Ghana - The GNPC-sponsored Ghana's Fastest Human (GFH) competition concluded its final qualifying meet at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, with a captivating display of speed and athleticism. The event crowned new zonal champions in both the Senior male and female categories, setting the stage for a thrilling national final.

In the Senior men's 100-meter final, Sumaila Issah from Mpasatia SHS, Ashanti Region, secured a hard-fought victory with a remarkable time of 10.67.1 seconds. He edged out a strong challenge from Isaac Sarfo of the Better Future Club, Ashanti Region, who clocked a time of 10.67.3 seconds to finish in second place. Appiah George from KNUST, Ashanti Region, rounded out the podium with a time of 10.78 seconds.

The Senior women's race was equally intense. Beatrice Boakye of Sagnation Club, Ashanti Region, emerged triumphant with a time of 12.30 seconds, showcasing her exceptional speed and agility. Ibrahim Aisha from St. Louis Girls SHS, Ashanti Region, took second place with a time of 12.35 seconds, sharing the podium with Christiana Yeboah of Goloe Athletics Club, Ashanti Region, who also recorded a time of 12.35 seconds.

The atmosphere at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was electric, with the cheers and chants of patrons providing an exhilarating backdrop for outstanding performances across all age categories – U15, U18, and Seniors. The event showcased the depth of talent in Ghana's sprinting community, setting new benchmarks for future competitions.

The GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human competition continues to solidify its position as a cornerstone of Ghana's athletic calendar, promoting sports development and empowering the dreams of talented youth across the country.

With the qualifying rounds now complete, all eyes turn to the national final, scheduled for June 29th at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. The event promises to be a showcase of thrilling battles among some of Ghana's fastest 100-meter speedsters, with the coveted title of "Ghana's Fastest Human" up for grabs.
