GNPC Scholars at UEW Enhance Learning Environment at Gyahadze M/A Basic School

Beneficiaries of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Scholarship at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have exemplified their commitment to community development through a generous donation of educational materials to the Gyahadze M/A Basic School in Winneba. This initiative, part of their ongoing community projects, aims to enhance teaching and learning at the school.

The presentation ceremony was attended by a distinguished group including Madam Mercy Quansah, GNPC UEW representative; Mr. John Sackey, Headmaster of Gyahadze Basic School; Mr. Emmanuel Hanson Ofori, Assistant Headteacher; the School Management Committee (SMC) Chairperson; the Gyahadze Assemblyman; teachers, and various PTA executives.

The GNPC Scholars' mission was to empower the primary school children in the community by donating essential learning materials. The donation included 40 single desks, 350 customized exercise books, 60 mathematical sets, 10 boxes of marker pens, 4 boxes of pens, and 6 packs of long rulers. These contributions are expected to improve the learning environment for the students significantly.

Mr. John Sackey, the headmaster, expressed profound gratitude for the scholars' generosity. He emphasized that the contributions would greatly empower the students and enhance their education.

"GNPC's vision, ultimately, seeks to facilitate an improvement in the quality of life of the people of Ghana," the student group stated. "As beneficiaries of its Scholarship scheme, we are also ambassadors and hence our resolve to contribute to making a difference in society one gesture at a time."

This initiative by GNPC UEW Scholars highlights the power of collective effort in improving the quality of education. Their generosity is an inspiring example for others, demonstrating that even seemingly small actions can significantly impact the lives of students and communities.
