GNPC Foundation Reinforces Commitment to Economic Empowerment of Women in Western Region's Coastal Communities
The GNPC Foundation has reiterated its commitment to inclusive development and economic empowerment following a strategic working visit by Acting Executive Director Madam Helga J.M. Boadi to the coastal communities of European Town and Ngyeresia, Western Region. This initiative, integral to the Foundation's ongoing community engagement efforts, facilitated direct dialogue with local female fishmongers.
The core objective was to gain first-hand insights into their operational realities, challenges, and to collaboratively identify practical measures for livelihood enhancement. Such direct interactions are deemed crucial for the effective design and implementation of interventions specifically addressing the needs of women within the fishing sector. Madam Boadi articulated the Foundation's philosophy: “To truly impact communities, we must walk with them, supporting their journey, helping to scale the challenges, and empowering their dreams.”
The GNPC Foundation's operational model includes collaboration with relevant partners and governmental agencies to ensure the provision of sustainable, long-term solutions. These interventions are anticipated to contribute to improved income levels, the strengthening of local economies, and increased community resilience, ultimately advancing economic growth and social well-being along Ghana's coastal belt.
