GNPC CEO Engages Retired Staff Association, Endorses GRESA Consultancy Venture

On February 27, 2025, Mr. Kwame Ntow Amoah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), hosted executives of the GNPC Retired Staff Association (GRESA) at the Corporation’s Tema headquarters as part of his ongoing stakeholder engagement strategy. The delegation, led by GRESA President Mr. Lawrence Sam, sought to reinforce the relationship between GNPC and its retired professionals while exploring opportunities for collaboration.

Mr. Sam underscored the enduring expertise of GRESA members, emphasizing that retirement does not diminish their capacity to contribute to GNPC and the broader energy sector. “Our members possess deep institutional knowledge and technical proficiency, positioning them to mentor emerging professionals and address industry challenges,” he stated.

A key focus of the discussion was the launch of GRESA Energy Services, a consultancy wholly owned by GRESA members. The initiative aims to harness the collective experience of retired staff to deliver specialized solutions to the energy industry. Mr. Sam appealed for GNPC’s support to ensure the venture’s success while also congratulating Mr. Ntow Amoah on his recent appointment and pledging GRESA’s alignment with his strategic vision for GNPC.

In response, Mr. Ntow Amoah praised GRESA’s proactive initiative and affirmed GNPC’s commitment to partnering with GRESA Energy Services. He highlighted the value of adaptability in navigating career and industry shifts, stating, “Change is an opportunity for growth. Our focus must remain on leveraging transformation to drive impact.”

The CEO also outlined his primary objective of reversing Ghana’s declining oil production through accelerated drilling and development efforts. “Stemming this decline is critical to securing the nation’s energy future,” he emphasized, signaling a results-driven agenda for his tenure.

With GNPC marking its 40th anniversary in 2025, Mr. Ntow Amoah noted the timeliness of deepening ties with GRESA. He committed to fostering stronger collaboration, ensuring that the expertise of retired professionals continues to influence Ghana’s oil and gas sector. The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about the potential for mutual benefit as GNPC rolls out its anniversary programs.
