GNPC CEO Advocates for Research & Data Centre's Potential and Strategic Partnerships
Edward Abambire Bawa, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has emphasized the pivotal role of data-centric decision-making and the economic prospects inherent in GNPC’s Research and Data Centre (RATC).
During a productive visit to the Centre, Hon. Bawa underlined the capacity for GNPC to harness revenue growth through the augmentation of RATC’s competencies to cater to the exigencies of both the oil & gas and mining sectors, cementing the Corporation’s strategic trajectory towards innovation and operational excellence.
The rendezvous, orchestrated by Mr. Kwesi Krasi Eyiah, General Manager for Research & Data at GNPC, centered on the imperative of cultivating strategic alliances to augment RATC’s technological infrastructure, optimize its research deliverables, and broaden its suite of services. Deliberations accentuated the value of synergies with industry counterparts to position the Centre as a nucleus for cutting-edge data analytics, geospatial acumen, and technical inquiry.
“Data transcends conventional utility to emerge as a potent economic asset. By broadening RATC’s purview to encompass mining alongside oil & gas, GNPC stands poised to instigate an additional revenue stream while bolstering the administration of Ghana’s energy and mineral resources,” Hon. Bawa remarked.
After the discussions, the CEO embarked on an illuminative tour of the RATC data hub, engaging with technical teams and immersing in the Centre’s pivotal functions in data aggregation, curation, and interpretation. He lauded the team for their steadfast dedication towards elevating GNPC’s research capacities and reiterated his unwavering dedication to equipping the Centre with the requisite resources to optimize its efficacy and commercial viability.
Hon. Bawa urged the RATC cohort to leverage state-of-the-art technologies, fortify internal data governance mechanisms, and forge partnerships that will position GNPC as a vanguard in research-driven expedition and resource governance.
